Ready to Open Your Heart? Become a Host Home Foster Parent
Have you ever considered opening your heart and home to a child who needs a loving environment? Becoming a Host Home foster parent through RISE Services, Inc. Oregon may be your next great calling. Host Homes provide loving, stable environments for children living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Does this spark your interest? Let’s explore your options and how we can help support you and your foster child in the process.
Why Become a Host Home Foster Parent?
Becoming a Host Home foster parent can be one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make. In Oregon alone, over 4,500 children are in foster care, many with unique needs due to living with IDD.
Despite the growing need in our state, there’s a significant shortage of available homes prepared to accept foster children. By becoming a foster parent, you’ll be filling a critical gap in the foster care system while making a lasting impact on a child’s life.
What’s the Process?
The journey to becoming a foster parent involves several steps. Typically, it only takes three to six months to become licensed.
Licensing Requirements
To qualify, you’ll need to fulfill some basic requirements:

- Possess reliable transportation.
- Be in good physical and mental health.
